Naga083 Mao Tze Tung containers

Chinese Jingdezhen 景徳鎮ware: two items. A container for writings brushes and pens, and a container for cinnabar ink 朱肉　made by these famous kilns during the Cultural Revolution、1966 or shortly after. Both items carry the photo transfer portrait of Chairman Mao (Tze Tung)　毛（沢東）and his cohort Lin Piao in an exhortation to rise and support the Great Cultural Revolution. The brush holder has a quotation from the Sept. 5th edition of the People’s Daily Newspaper saying something to the effect that the Great Cultural Revolution is a revolution of human souls requiring strength of resolve. Brush holder lip width (same for bottom): 7.8 cm. Height: 13 cm., Ink well top circumference: 8 cm. ink well bottom circumference: 5 cm. height: approx. 5 cm. The ink well also has an repeated photo transfer design of vegetables, flowers, and fruit. The inner well has the character ki喜　for happiness. Do you suppose these items may have been cadre wedding presents?
