Naga123 Arita deep cobalt lighthouse octagonal plate

Arita blue and white kakuzara octagonal plate with original hand brushed line-design in deep cobalt of what looks to me like a lighthouse, a bridge, and the sea with islands in the distance. This is my favorite of the kakusara pieces in the collection because of its boldness and richness of color. The four corners are hand brushed in a modified tree or palm design, while the centers are hill clusters against a design of lined lozenges and crosses. The reverse carries four hand brushed designs of the tako karakusa or tentacled Chinese vine. No signature or mark. Circa 1880. Top width: 29.5 cm. Corner width: 34 cm. Bottom diameter: 17.5 cm.
