Naga129 Arita deep seascape and mountain octagonal plate

Arita blue and white porcelain kakuzara octagonal plate with a stencil transfer (inban) design of a sansuiga (Chinese style water and seascape) at the center srouunded by a band of Chinese key motif. The inner sides are in two interesting designs of : circles of dwarf bamboo leaves on a ground of lined hexagons, and four corner designs of a circle of stylized pine brances on a ground of seikaiha, or waves of the blue sea scalloped design. The dwarf bamboo sides also contain two bellflowers and two origami cranes. The backside contains four stencil transfer inban designs of plum, leaf, and vine. Four concentric bands are found on the bottom, one inside, and three outside. No mark or signature. Meiji Period. Top width: 28.5 cm. Corner width: 33.4 cm. Bottom diameter: 17.5 cm. Height: 4.3 cm.
