Naga150 Peony and dragonfly vase

Vase from the Yazaemon Kiln of Arita in the Kakiemon style, with a design of peonies and two fully drawn dragonflies. This vase has both a double branched peony design on the front, as well as another single peony with dragonfly design on the back. Overglaze hand-written signature ‘Yazaemon’ Gold rim and three red bands at the base. One of the finest examples I have seen from this kiln. Purchased at the Arita Ceramic Fair in 2004, I learned that the Yazaemon kiln has gone out of business forever, so these pieces are the last of a long line. Height 30 cm., circumference approx. 54 cm., bottom circumference 9.5 cm., top circumference 9.5 cm.
