Naga156 Mikawachi vessel for rinsing small sake cup A very unusual piece of Mikawachi porcelain judging from its fine milky white surface. The design seems to be stenciled, though no repeats can be detected save for the circle chain on the upper lip. This is small haisen tAa vessel for rinsing small sakazukit(sake cups) between servings. The interior design is of a wild tiger on a cliff, baying at the moon, while two triple clawed dragons, one spouting a thunderbolt, roil about in the clouds above. The exterior design is of a pair of geese in flight while another trio of geese alights below amid bamboo, chrysanthemum, and other autumnal grasses. The base is patterned in 5 lozenges of plashing waves.
