Naga175 Splendid bloom and bird vase

Fantastically colored Arita vase with the signature Yaemon 弥右ヱ門 that can be found on other pieces from this collection. At the center of the floral design of cosmos and daisies, it seems, are a pair of barn swallows or warblers perhaps, executed in subtle tones of brown, cream and white in contrast to the brilliant pinks, reds, greens, pinks, and whites found elsewhere in the floral surface. The top and bottom rims are decorated in hand applied gold. All of the above have been applied in various applications over an initial firing of blue and white to set the stage. Truly a very handsome piece. Modern. Height 21 cm., Diameter also approx 21 cm. Base is 10 cm. in diameter.
