Naga189 Paired phoenix plate

Arita blue-and-white stencil plate in the design of a pair of elegant phoenixes facing center stage. I have several other pieces, in varing sizes, in variations on this design that may have been created to mark the ascent of Emperor Taisho to the throne in 1913. The rim carries a design of cherry blossoms. The back is plain and unmarked. Diameter 25 cm., back circle 15.5 cm. Height 3.3 cm. No mark.
