Naga223 Iro Nabeshima butterfly plate

Colored Nabeshima plate in the design of twelve butterfly moths against a blue border. The butterflies are hand tinted in traditional Nabeshima colors of green, yellow, and red. The design is completed by two tasseled lozenges at the back. Stamped and hand signed Shiro 城　from the Ogasawara 小笠原kiln in Ookawachi大河内, the center of Nabeshima production in Saga Prefecture. Diameter 25.8 cm., height 2.8 cm.
