Naga319 Arita traditional Swatow design octagonal dish

Arita akae octagonal serving dish. The four holes in the rim indicate that a bamboo looped handle is intended to be inserted there. Probably for serving tempura or a small order of sashimi. The design is the traditional Swatow ware design, in red, of a rooster, or is it a phoenix, flying in a field of four stylized blossoms and symbols for sky. Stamp on the reverse reads eHoshof ˁ@Meant as elegant dinner service for Japanese cuisine.
