Naga334 Arita inban full moon and flower plate

Arita blue-and-white stencil plate from the Meiji era, late 19th century. The design is of a banner containing an elegant arrangement of plums and camellia against a full moon, overlaying a spray of bamboo. The back- side carries three stenciled designs of camellias. One kiln stacking mark in the center, but no kiln stamp. Likely from the kilns of the Yamatoku company. Diameter 30 cm., back rim diameter 20 cm. One chip in outer front rim.
