Arita akae hand-applied pattern over blue-and-white base bowl in a design derived from early Swatow ware types with the large red circles and intricate Persian type necklace details. The center blue-and-white is purely Japanese swirl of patterns known from the earliest times: Blue ocean waves and Chinese key.
