Naga438 Kyoto Nishijin kimono undergarment (mountain)

Juban襦袢 are kimono着物 undergarments. This one is for a man, and is of the highest level of Kyoto Nishijin京西陣 silk weaving in stunning colors of silver gray. Two lozenges in the design of feathers are done in Kyoto yuzen 京友禅paste-resist dyeing, while the mountain design is carried out in shibori 絞りtie-dye. The lining is silver. Pre-war, probably 1930’s. Never worn.
