Naga463 Iron fittings and sugi cedar standing screen

Tsuitate Υ—§or standing screen meant to block the view in the entranceway of a traditional Japanese home, but not prevent people from actually entering. The function of the tsuitate is to denote private space from public space, and is often decorative. This example is a reconstruction made from new sugi cedar. The iron fittings are perhaps taken from an older and larger gate.
