Un Homme de Yap, Ouest Carolines 1935 Oban

 |
A young married man from the West Carolines in Micronesia, denoted by his forked hairpiece. His nakedness is complemented by an extraordinary necklace, with earrings, of coral, beads, and bone. The floating portrait style, found elsewhere in French art, is set against a branch containing one large yellow carambola star fruit.
